Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Producer’s Assistant to support two established producers across a dynamic slate of film and television projects. This role is designed as a growth position, with the intention of developing into a Junior Producer and/or Line Producer role over time.
The ideal candidate has foundational experience in production, such as working on short films, web series, or an independent feature, in a coordinating, managing and/or producing capacity. Candidates who have relevant experience in related fields are welcome to apply.
This is a hands-on opportunity to gain meaningful exposure to both the creative and operational sides of producing. Candidates should be eager to expand their skills across development, business affairs, financing, production, post, marketing and distribution.
Our Ideal Candidate:
1–2 years of experience in film/TV production, development, or coordination
Experience working on short films, digital content, or film and tv
Strong interest in producing, with a desire to grow into a Junior Producer role
Familiarity with the Canadian production landscape is an asset
Proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented
Comfortable balancing administrative tasks with creative input
A collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
Strong communication and writing skills
Proficiency in Google Workspace and Excel
Working knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting, Scheduling, Squarespace, Instagram, Notion is a plus
Fluent in French is an asset
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Coordination
Manage calendars, scheduling, and be the main point person for external communication
Track deadlines, development costs, deliverables, and project milestones across multiple productions
Organize digital files, production documents, and internal systems
Basic Accounting such as Petty Cash, Development Costs
Development Support
Read and provide basic coverage on scripts and other materials
Assist in preparing pitch decks, lookbooks, and submission materials
Track submissions, feedback, and development progress
Business Affairs Support
Assist with agreements
Maintain organized records of contracts and rights materials
Liaise with legal teams and external partners as needed
Keeping up to date with Tax Credit changes, Canadian funding applications/requirements (e.g., Telefilm, CMF, provincial programs, Treaty Co-Productions)
Assist in preparing application materials and tracking submissions
Support the creation of financing documents and investor materials
Production Support
Assist with budgeting and scheduling tasks
Support production coordination, including crew onboarding and logistics
Provide on-set, production office, wrap and post-production support
Release & Market Support
Assist with managing and creating promotional materials for projects and company
Prepping for Film & TV Markets including outreach, organizing meetings, research and funding
Maintaining website and social media
